NEW RP, STICKS AND HOLES!
I am going to miss calling you guys that. No lie.
First of all, I would like to thank whoever sent in the kind words about NowKiss to that roleplay judging tumblr. It was so fucking sweet. I teared up a little, negl.
Secondly, guess what! We finished the new RP. We’ve been working on this for about 2 months off and on and it’s gone through a number of incarnations. We had a LOT of good ideas that were scrapped for one reason or another.
As some of you know and some of you don’t, at one point we were going to reboot NowKiss as NowKiss: The Next Generation. When we were doing the s3 awards, I promised you that you’d be able to keep your face claim and be able to extend your character’s life, and that’s how it was going to be done. Your character would get to have their endgames told through their children.
I bring this up because the new RP is NOT NK: TNG. But as some of you already know about that idea, we’re still going to allow any headcanons and characters to be played out.
CREATING A NK:TNG CHILD- In order to explain how you would create a child of your NK character in the new RP, I’ll use the example of a ship that never was: Puck and Davlin.
Let’s say Puck and Davlin used a surrogate mother to have a bouncing baby boy named Tommy. In a normal world, Tommy’s name would probably be something like Thomas Puckerman-Fitzroy, Thomas Puckerman, or Thomas Fitzroy. It depended on if Davlin decided to keep his maiden name.
In the new RP, we will be allowing people to take on the canon characters of any TV show (as long as the FC is under 35). As we have previously stated, everyone gets first dibs on their own face claims. That means that Prancer and Henry get to choose whether they’re giving up the FCs of Mark Salling/Michael Trevino and Francisco Lachowski/Andrew Garfield.
If Prancer decides that his character on the new RP will not be using Mark Salling or Michael Trevino, that means they’re up for grabs to the general public. People can join RP as either Noah Puckerman, Tyler Lockwood, or as original characters who use the Mark Salling or Michael Trevino FaceClaims. It will be first come, first serve. If we accept the audition of a Mark Salling OC, we will not be accepting Noah Puckerman in the RP. If we accept the audition of Tyler Lockwood, we will not be accepting a Michael Trevino OC.
Confused yet? Good.
Because we’re allowing canon characters to join the roleplay, it would be pretty confusing if Noah Puckerman joined the RP and met Tommy Puckerman-Fitzroy. The current rule is that any child of a canon parent must have a last name that is not a canon last name. Tommy Puckerman-Fitzroy would be Tommy Duck, Tommy Pucklin, Tommy Pitzroy, etc.
We also ask that children not specify their parents names or show pictures of them. It would be very uncomfortable if Tommy Pitzroy were gay and trying to hook up with an Andrew Garfield OC, only to continuously bring up “Hey, you look like my Dad did when he was younger.” Or if someone pointed out, “HEY! YOUR DAD LOOKS LIKE PUCK!”
THE NEW RP- Town X is the new idea we have for an RP. We’re not trying to recreate NowKiss in any way, shape or form. There are a significant amount of similarities, but there are many differences, too.
Difference- NowKiss’s reality show storyline created a sense of urgency in finishing paras with no care in order to get points. It didn’t matter how well you wrote a para, but just that you wrote it and finished it. In Town X, there is significantly less reward and pressure. You should not be finishing 20 paras a week.
Similarities- You WILL be awarded for smutting. Town X is still a smut-based RP. There is still a minimum number of smut paragraphs that must be finished each week in order to remain part of the RP.
The most significant change we are going for with Town X is quality of life and quality of character. Town X has a very detailed universe that we spent weeks perfecting. You will have all have addresses, pictures of your homes, etc.
Also, everyone will have to reaudition. This INCLUDES THE MODS. There is all likelihood that I could be told that I didn’t pass the audition process. No one will be treated with favoritism whatsoever. In all intents and purposes, this is a completely new RP.
This RP is also sponsored by NK Productions. Any RPs that your friendly team of mods work on together will be an NK Production. That being said, NowKiss the TV show does not exist in this universe.
Your five mods are still the same people, but Sue Sylvester, Will Schuester, Emma Pillsbury, Holly Holliday and Bryan Ryan will not be making the trip to Town X. We all have new mod faceclaims and characters, but the same jobs. If you’re confused about the point system, you will be sending a message to Mr. Westen (Davry). If you need to vent any complaints or get help, you will be sending a message to Dr. Liz (Mama).
And of course, I’ll be there. Dr. Doctorow (Papa) will be making regular posts ala Sue’s Corner for the Town X gazette.
FINAL NOTE- BEFORE YOU GO RUNNING OFF TO CHECK AT TOWN X, PLEASE READ THIS ONE FINAL NOTICE.
FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY AND AWESOME, SEND A MESSAGE TO THE TOWN X MAIN OR TO NOWKISSSUE AS SOON AS YOU KNOW IF YOU ARE GIVING UP THE RIGHTS TO YOUR FACECLAIM. Town X will start roleplaying Friday, March 16th, at 6 pm EST. We will begin advertising to the general public and approving auditions on Friday morning. IF YOU ARE A MEMBER OF NOWKISS, IT’S A GOOD IDEA TO GET YOUR AUDITIONS IN BEFORE FRIDAY MORNING.
